The Boston Massacre took place on March 5, 1770. It started when a large crowd of colonists started making fun of several soldiers stationed in Boston. More and more colonist started to make fun of the soldiers and then they started to throw snowballs and rocks at them. Soon later, fistfights erupted and more soldiers were sent in. The soldiers were told to load their guns. The commander yelled not to fire but one soldier claimed he heard "fire" and shot his rifle into the crowd. The other soldiers were confused so they too shot their rifles. At the end, 3 colonists laid dead and 8 others wounded. 2 of the injured later died. Among the dead was Crispus Attucks. Many people consider that Attucks was the first person killed in the struggle for American Liberty. This incident made the colonist furious and Britain later repealed all the unpopular taxes on the colonists except for the tax on tea which would later result Tea Party in the Boston.
